Farne islands is one of the best locations for photographing sea birds like, Razorbills, Shags, Guillemots, Kittiwakes, Terns , Ring Plovers, and over 50,000 breading Puffins The birds at times are at your feet so no need for very large lenses, this will be a all day workshop and we will be landing on two islands by boat, first stop staple island home to most of the UK Auk family here you get with in feet of nesting Puffins and flight shots or catch a shot of them just standing around with sand eels hanging from there bills, Razorbills and Guillemots will have eggs or young, we are here for about two and half hours then we board the boat and depart for the second island (inner farne) this island is home to Terns, Common, Sandwich, Arctic and Roseate Tern, here you will get good flight shots of the Terns just over your head, the Terns nest just of the path and at times on the path these nests will be cornered of but just watch for the young chicks at your feet, here you will get with in inches of Puffins at or entering there nest hole with food for the chicks, look out for nesting Ring Plovers , The day will start at 09.00 at the main front car park at seahouses harbour a group introduction and safety talk will take place before we depart at 10.00, once on board there will be a short safety talk by the boat operators then we will head out to the islands , on the way look out for Seals, Gannets, and other sea birds, Once on the islands i will give a group photography talk on where and how to get your shots and the settings for your subject, i will come to each photographer and help you with the photography, we will look at the light, the subject and your camera settings for that image, we should arrive back at seahouses between 16.00 -17.00 Price, the Farne Islands are run by the National Trust and a landing fee of £6.50 for each island is payable to the wardens,
